Jamshedpur: Wife of Kartik Munda alleges murder, demands CBI probe

Jamshedpur, July 15: Prema Dora, the wife of notorious criminal Kartik Munda, has accused the police of murdering her husband after he fell from a multi-storey building in Sonari, Jamshedpur. She, along with representatives from the Adivasi Mandal Samaj, met with Jamshedpur SSP Kishore Kaushal to submit an application demanding a CBI investigation into the incident.

In her application, Prema Dora alleges that her husband was killed by police officers who had arrested him. She insists that an FIR for murder should be filed against the concerned officers and strict action should be taken. Copies of the application have been sent to various authorities including the Home Ministry, Government of India, Tribal Commission New Delhi, and the National Human Rights Commission.

Detailing the sequence of events, Prema Dora stated that on July 12, around 1-2 am, police officers from Sonari police station arrived at their residence, claiming they were there for an investigation. When her husband attempted to flee upon seeing the police, he jumped from a balcony onto a neighbouring roof where he was apprehended and taken away in a black Scorpio car. Shockingly, she learned of her husband’s death the following morning when his body was brought to Tata Main Hospital.

Prema Dora has demanded the preservation of CCTV footage from her residential complex and Tata Main Hospital, as well as from the route taken by the police. She asserts that her husband’s death under suspicious circumstances warrants a thorough investigation.

The Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum has responded to the family’s demand by ordering a medical board to conduct a post-mortem examination, which took place on July 13, followed by cremation at Swarnarekha Burning Ghat.

She refutes claims made by local newspapers, labelling them as fabricated stories intended to cover up the truth behind her husband’s death.
