TV Narendran inaugurates Dog Show at Loyola Ground

Jamshedpur, Jan 6: The 71^st, 72^nd and 73^rd Dog Show of Jamshedpur Kennel Club was inaugurated by Tata Steel CEO and MD TV Narendran at Loyola Ground on Friday. Ruchi Narendran,President of Jamshedpur Kennel Club, was also present along with Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President (Corporate Services), D B Sundararamam, VPRM and Avneesh Gupta, VP TQM, Engineering & projects.

The event, being held after a break of two years caused by Covid-19 pandemic, kicked off with an agility show conducted by Tata Steel and Tata motors. The first day of the annual show saw the canines undergo Obedience Trial. Over 80 dogs from across the country participated in the event.

Obedience Trial examines the obedience of dogs through various drills and is done through various categories of Obedience Class ranging from C1 to C7. C6 is one of the toughest categories. Altogether 22 dogs participated in this category.

In his address, Narendran said Dog Show is an important annual event of Jamshedpur. He said such shows help one understand the nature of dogs and get closer to them.

Praising the organizers, Narendran said the dogs of Tata Steel and Tata Motors were well-known for their discipline and attacking skills. “Jamshedpur’s Dog Show is very popular in the country. After two years of Covid-19, maximum number of dogs, 430 of them, have made entry to the Dog Show in our city. I am happy that youngsters from the whole country are participating in the event. We appeal to dog lovers to come here and enjoy it,” said Narendran.

The main attraction of today’s show was the parade of Tata Steel and Tata Motors Kennel Club dogs who passed by the chief guest matching their steps with the band playing simultaneously. One of the participating dogs brought a bouquet to welcome Narendran, the chief guest of the show. The dogs showcased their skills in rolling jump, rolled out, disc throw catching and other events. One of the dogs broke a wall, earning applause from one and all.
