Jamshedpur, Dec 2: East Singhbhum district administration has sought the cooperation of all political parties to make the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll 2023 successful.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav convened a meeting with the representatives of all political parties at her office and appealed to them to ensure greater public participation in the campaign. She requested them to help revise the electoral roll through addition, deletion or rectification of names of all voters during the campaign.
“Mass awareness should be spread to make the campaign successful and effective. People should be informed about the campaign and its objectives through interaction at various public places and gatherings,” said the DC.
The DC said spreading public awareness on linking voters’ cards to Aadhar was also essential and that the political parties could play a vital role in it. She said the process of linking was simple and safe. “People should provide their Aadhar numbers to booth level officers (BLOs) when demanded or should do it online through voter helpline app or portal.
Those who attended the meeting included representatives of Rashtriya Janata Dal, CPI, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress party.
DRDA Director Saurabh Sinha and Kanu Ram Nag also attended the meeting.
