Jamshedpur, May 30: Sumit Kumar Thakur, a resident of Adityapur Road No. 3 in Seraikela-Kharsawan district scored AIR 263 in EWS category in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Exam 2021 results that were announced on Monday.
Sumit hopes of getting EWS category benefit. Sumit’s father Vijay Kumar Thakur is school van driver and earns Rs 10 thousand per month.
Talking to this reporter, Sumit informed that he got success in the third attempt. “I appeared for the UPSC exam in 2019 and also appeared for the interview but fell short by just three marks. I also took the 2020 exam during the pandemic time but couldn’t succeed. I worked hard and again appeared in 2021 and finally I am successful.”
Sumit completed his class 10 from Ramakrishna Mission School in Bistupur. He appeared for class 12 from Rajendra Vidyalaya. Later, Sumit appeared for JEE Mains and got admission in BIT Sindri Dhanbad.
Sumit graduated with Computer Science in the year 2018 and rejected offers from Yamaha, TCS.
Later, he started his own startup company Petiva Private Ltd which has developed several apps specially during the pandemic.
“Sumit was good in studies from the beginning and worked hard and this result is the testament to the dedication,” says his parent.
Sumit has not only brought laurels to his family but made entire district and state proud.
