BJP leader writes to DC, department Secy for intervention
Jamshedpur, Jan 4: A short distance from the Ghorabandha theme park near Telco township of Jamshedpur the saying of darkness under a lamp can be seen coming true.
On one side of the theme park, a huge water tank has been constructed under the Chhota Govindpur water supply scheme near the water treatment plant at Hudco.
On the other hand, the tribal population of Dhuma Colony and Dhuma Basti, settled inside the theme park, are deprived of basic facilities of clean drinking water even after 22 years of creation of Jharkhand.
Raising this matter, former BJP district spokesperson Ankit Anand has written a letter to Prashant Kumar, secretary, drinking water and sanitation department Jharkhand, deputy commissioner East Singhbhum Suraj Kumar seeking urgent intervention to the problem.

The capacity and area of Chhota Govindpur Water Supply Scheme should be expanded so that the large tribal population of Dhuan Colony and Dhuma Basti under East Ghorabandha can be covered with the facility of clean drinking water.
“While tweeting this matter, the BJP leader has also brought this matter to the notice of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India along with the departmental minister Mithilesh Thakur so that this critical public problem is resolved soon.”
The BJP leader expressed concern that the settlements of such a large population are not included in the priority list of the drinking water and sanitation department and public representative.
The BJP leader further informed that villagers faced with water problem, made two wells by doing shramdaan, which the local people use for daily purposes of bathing and sanitation. Water has been supplied from Intake Well in Luabasa to Hudco Treatment Water Plant along Ghorabandha Theme Park adjacent to these villages.
The BJP leader also claimed that under Chhota Govindpur water supply scheme, a large population of areas in Rahargora, Gadra, Parsudih would be benefited from clean drinking water via Govindpur. But from where the water tank has been constructed, many rural settlements including the adjacent Dhuma Colony, Dhuma Colony have been neglected.
The BJP leader Ankit Anand has demanded from Jamshedpur deputy commissioner and departmental secretary that the capacity of Govindpur Water Supply Scheme should be expanded to the neighboring settlements also so that the tribal population is benefited.
