Jamshedpur, Jan 4: Cyber criminals have withdrawn Rs 3.49 lakh from the bank account of Syed Safiullah, a resident of Mango. In his statement given to the police, the victim said that to get information regarding the transactions in his account, the customer care number of the bank was searched on Google and called upon. According to the complaint lodged with the police station, Syed Safiullah has an account in the Mango branch of IndusInd Bank.
The receiving phone told him to call him from another number. After sometime a call came on his mobile number from the number 89275566972. The caller said to get the money in his account immediately. For this, many more important information was asked including the number of Safiullah’s ATM card.
OTP came 5 times on Syed Safiullah’s mobile. When asked, he shared the OTP to the caller. A total of Rs 3.49 lakh was deducted from Thanke account. When Syed Safiullah went to the bank to get information, he came to know that he had become a victim of cyber fraud. The thugs have also transferred all the money by breaking their FD. After this the matter reached the cyber police station. Cyber police are probing the matter.
