Jamshedpur transport department tops revenue collection, lagging in road safety

Jamshedpur, July 7: East Singhbhum district transport department achieved 108.96 per cent target of revenue collection in the first quarter of the financial year 2022-23. The total revenue collection for the period is Rs 55.47 crore, sources said.

Ironically, however, this figure has failed to improve road safety scenario in the city which reportedly witnessed 30 deaths in 52 road accidents in April and May this year. A total of 31 people were injured in these accidents, sources said.

In April, 16 people died while 14 got injured in 26 road accidents while in May, 14 people died and 17 got injured in 26 road accidents, sources said.
