Jamshedpur traffic goes haywire as waterlogging takes over city streets

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, July 14: Intermittent rains threw the drainage system of the city out of gear in just 15 minutes. Traffic on various city roads was thrown out of gear as vehicular movement slowed down due to waterlogging. Vehicles moved slowly on the waterlogged streets near Mango roundabout, New Purulia Road, Old Purulia Road, Dimna Road and Sakchi. Waterlogging was also seen on the old Mango Bridge. Similar situation was witnessed on the Straight Mile Road near Sanjay Shalini Market. Local traders alleged that rainwater had entered their shops due to clogging of the drain passing through the market. They said the drain was closed during construction of a footpath following the anti-encroachment drive launched recently by the district administration.
