Jamshedpur, Aug 2: Tata Steel is all set to organise the All India Inter Steel Plants Hockey Championship from August 6 to 8 at NTHA Ground, ISWP Sports Complex.
A total of 80 players and officials are going to participate in the above championship. Teams from Tata Steel, Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL), Rourkela Steel Plant and Bhilai Steel Plant will take part in the tournament. Avinash Kumar, Sr. Manager, Sports Department Tata Steel is the Organizing Secretary and Sudarshan Singh, Adviser, SPSB & NIS, Hockey Coach (Bhilai) has been nominated as the Observer for the championship.
The championship will be inaugurated by R Rabi Prasad, President, Tata Workers� Union (TWU) on August 6, 2019 at 3.00 PM at NTHA Ground, ISWP Sports Complex.
The tournamnet will kick off with the host Tata Steel taking on RINL, Vishakapatnam Steel Plant.
The championship will see talented young hockey players from various parts of the country. The teams will arrive by August 5. Meeting of managers of all the teams is scheduled at 6.00 PM on August 5 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
All the matches will be played according to the Hockey India rules. Two matches will be played each in the morning and evening session.
Matches will consist of 4 quarters, each of 15 minutes. Finals will be played on August 8 from 6.00 PM. The matches will be officiated by the Qualified Referees.
