Jamshedpur to host IMF East Zone Sport Climbing Championship from Sep 6-8

125 Athletes to Compete

Jamshedpur, September 5: The 29th East Zone Sport Climbing Championship 2025, will take place at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur from 6th September to 8th September, 2025. TSAF and IMF East Zone will be collaborating for conducting the event. The event is supported by JCAPCPL and Tata Steel Foundation.

Over the next three days, around 125 athletes from Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal will compete for top honors in this prestigious event. The championship promises an exciting display of skill, stamina and courage as young climbers push their limits on the wall. Kumar Gaurav and Babulal Rawat, Coaches at TSAF Sport Climbing Academy, and Raju Karmakar, Coach from Odisha TSAF Sport Climbing High Performance Centre, along with several grassroots coaches from TSAF Sport Climbing Academy, are serving as officials for this event.

The competition will feature all three Olympic climbing formats – Lead, Speed, and Boulder. In Lead, climbers will attempt to reach the highest point on tall, challenging walls testing their strength and endurance. Speed will offer thrilling duels where athletes race against each other to the top in just seconds. Boulder, on the other hand, will showcase creativity and explosive power on short but technically complex routes. These gripping contests will not only crown zonal champions but also decide the athletes who qualify for the National Sport Climbing Championship, giving participants a chance to shine on the bigger stage.
