Jamshedpur, Jan 20: The Tagore Society organized three-day annual Rabindra Sangeet Festival at the Rabindra Bhawan set aside the evening chill at Rabindra Bhawan on January 20 evening as popular singer Rohini Roy Chowdhury set the ball of excitement rolling with her renditions of the Bard’s compositions that left enthusiasts asking for more and they were not disappointed. The evening grew comfortably warmer as Kolkata’s Monomoy Bhattacharya continued to pump up adrenaline flow with his meticulous renditions of Rabindra Sangeet. The evergreen and master singer who has overwhelmed audiences across the country and abroad with his songs, Srikant Acharya, on this occasion, ensured that the engrossed audience at the Rabindra Bhawan, on this evening swam along joyously with the tide he had set in motion.
It may be mentioned that the annual Rabindra Sangeet event is being organized in the city for more than the last four decades, attracting Rabindra Sangeet enthusiasts, not only from the country but abroad too. The festival provides a unique opportunity for both national and international artistes to showcase their talent through Rabindra Sangeet.

Tagore Society Secretary, Ashis Chowdhury, stated, “The three-day Rabindra Sangeet Festival encompasses a rich diversity of Rabindra Sangeet. Various artistes strive to reach the depths of Rabindra Sangeet, connecting with the hearts of the audience. The aim of the annual Rabindra Sangeet Festival is to familiarize the younger generation, along with music lovers, with the flourishing heritage of Rabindra Sangeet.”
Chowdhury added that on the second day of the program, January 20, renowned Rabindra Sangeet artistes Devadrita Chattopadhyay and Shreya Guha Thakurta from Kolkata and Bangladesh’s eminent Rabindra Sangeet artiste Laisa Ahmed Leesa will also perform to regale the audience with their trademark presentations of finesse and aplomb. The musical accompanists include Kolkata’s renowned tabla player Partho Mukherjee, Nandan Dasgupta on the esraj, Shubhendu Shekhar Das on the keyboard, and Sanjivan Acharya on the manjira, to add buoyance to the musical presentations.
