Jamshedpur, April 17: Team Change India Foundation, Jamshedpur attended the ‘Shramdaan Conclave’ 2017 at Raipur in Chhattisgarh on 15-16 April to make Swachh Bharat a reality.
The programme was organised by Raipur district administration (Chhatisgarh) and the volunteer Group � Bunch of Fools and they had invited teams from all over India who have been actively working towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The team presented their work report among the gathering during the two-day programme. Papers & presentations from different groups were presented. The conference seeks to define and draft a clear course & model of public participation in Cleanliness & Sanitation.
Gaurav Anand, Environmentalist, senior manager (Quality Assurance) of Jusco, founder of Cash Out of Trash initiative and member of Team Change India Foundation informed the august gathering about the plastic road initiative by which road is made through waste plastic and it was introduced in Jamshedpur by Anand himself.
He also told about the Biogas initiative where biogas plants have been installed at various locations of Jamshedpur where LPG consumption is high. Anand informed as to how food leftovers are used to ignite stoves using the energy-efficient and cost-effective biomethanation technology.
Members of the team painted the walls of Raipur with the picture of Jamshedpur city. Later the team members were welcomed by the women and panchayat members of Tilda Vikas Khand under Raipur district which houses 99 gram panchayats. After the cultural programme, the team were felicitated for their work towards cleanliness.
It may be noted that the team members created the biggest wall mural and tribal painting of Jharkhand in Burmamines in December 2016.
The team members present were Bishwajeet Prasad and Anand Parti and said that if given the responsibility we would help make East Singhbhum Open Defecation Free (ODF).
