Jamshedpur : In preparation for the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024, District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, along with Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal, conducted a thorough inspection of the EVM dispatch and receiving centers at LBSM College and Cooperative College. The visit aimed to ensure smooth and efficient dispatch and receiving processes for the electronic voting machines (EVMs) while upholding the guidelines established by the Election Commission.
Accompanying the inspection team were Project Director ITDA Dipankar Chaudhary, ADM (Law and Order) Aniket Sachan, Sub-Divisional Officer Dhalbhum Shatabdi Majumdar, City SP Kumar Shivashish, Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh, and other district officials.
For this election, EVMs for Baharagora, Ghatshila, and Potka constituencies will be dispatched from LBSM College, while the EVMs for Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East, and Jamshedpur West will be dispatched from Cooperative College. After polling, all EVMs will be received and stored at Cooperative College.
The inspection included a review of several critical areas, such as the election materials to be distributed to polling parties, the setup of dispatch centers, vehicle parking for polling personnel, and security arrangements for the strong room where EVMs will be stored post-polling. Officials examined each element closely to ensure compliance with the Election Commission’s protocols and recommended improvements where necessary.
The District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of seamless return procedures for polling parties post-election. Plans were reviewed for the efficient receiving of EVMs from each of the six constituencies, assembly-wise table setups for EVM receiving, and the orderly entry and exit of agents.
Additionally, Mittal provided directives for maintaining strict adherence to Election Commission norms across all locations. The inspection team took an in-depth look at the security arrangements, ensuring the safety of the EVMs and a transparent voting process.
With all necessary centers and security protocols reviewed, the district administration has pledged to conduct a fair and transparent election process. The inspection underscores the administration’s dedication to upholding election integrity, with comprehensive preparations now in place to ensure an orderly dispatch and receipt of EVMs, a crucial part of the electoral process.
