Jamshedpur: Tata Steel UISL to host RRR conclave on World Environment Day to combat plastic pollution

Jamshedpur, June 3: Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL) will organise RRR Conclave on the occasion of  World Environment Day at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur on June 5.

The event not only aims to address the critical issue of plastic pollution and promote sustainable practices but also serves as the closing ceremony of the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban campaign “Meri Life Mera Swachh Shahar”.

Tata Steel UISL is spearheading the “Meri Life Mera Swachh Shahar” campaign from May 15 to June 5,2023 under the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban. The campaign underscores the significance of cleanliness and sustainability in urban areas, in line with the national objective to establish cleaner and healthier cities. In partnership with the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), the RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Centre in Jamshedpur has opened to promote cleanliness and sustainability, in accordance with the LiFE mission.

The RRR Conclave, coinciding with the closing of the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban campaign, will showcase Tata Steel UISL’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship. With esteemed guests such as the Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum as the Chief Guest and Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services at Tata Steel as the Guest of Honour, the conclave will highlight the significance of collective efforts in fostering sustainable practices.

The central focus of the conclave will be the launch of an extensive plastic plugging campaign in Basti areas, a collaboration between Tata Steel UISL and JNAC. By reducing plastic consumption, promoting reuse habits, and encouraging recycling practices, this campaign aims to combat plastic pollution effectively.

Tata Steel UISL warmly invites individuals from all walks of life to actively join the plastic plugging campaign and contribute to reducing plastic waste. By embracing the principles of RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), participants can make a tangible impact on the environment and contribute to a cleaner, greener future. Outstanding participants will be recognized and awarded during the conclave.

On June 5th, 2023, people can join the campaign at different locations such as Kasidih, Ramdas Bhatta, Bistupur, Sonari, CH Area Baridih, and Burmamines between 7:30 am to 9:30 am.

The RRR Conclave promises to be an exciting event, bringing together environmentally conscious individuals, government officials, and community leaders. Together, they will explore sustainable solutions and underscore the importance of collective action in preserving the planet for future generations.
