Jamshedpur swelters as temperature soars to 40.8 degrees Celsius

Ranchi, April 15: The mercury continued to ascend with temperatures surpassing 40 degrees Celsius in seven out of 24 districts of the state. Godda in Santal Pargana recorded the highest temperature at 42.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Seraikela at 42 degrees Celsius. Ranchi experienced a temperature rise of 2.2 degrees Celsius, reaching 36.8 degrees Celsius, while Jamshedpur felt a maximum temperature of 40.8 degrees Celsius, marking an increase of 0.7 degrees Celsius. Daltonganj registered a temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Daltonganj also exceeded normal levels. The Meteorological Department has forecast a further increase in temperatures by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next 3-4 days, with clear skies and no rainfall expected. However, partly cloudy skies may be observed from April 20 onwards. Ranchi is expected to reach a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius by April 19, with minimum temperatures rising to 25 degrees Celsius. Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms occurred in some areas over the last 24 hours with Sahibganj receiving the highest rainfall at 48.4 mm. Seraikela recorded the highest maximum temperature at 41.3 degrees Celsius, while Garhwa reported the lowest minimum temperature at 22.2 degrees Celsius.
