Jamshedpur: Suspected thief escapes from Bistupur PS

Jamshedpur, May 9: A suspected thief escaped from Bistupur police station on Monday, police said.

The accused, who was handed over to police by the security guard of an under-construction mall at Bistupur, was kept at the police station office. He sought permission to go to the toilet and escaped shortly thereafter, said an official.

Cops said they had not noted down the name and address of the accused. They also maintained that no written complaint was made against the suspect by anyone.

The accused had entered the under-construction building with four others. He was caught by the security guard while his associates fled the scene, cops said.
