Jamshedpur: Stolen cash and goods recovered, two held

Jamshedpur, April 18: Olidih police here took in custody two persons including a minor in connection with the burglary in a locked house and also confiscated Rs 25,000 in cash and several stolen goods.

One of the accused was identified as Mohammad Salim Ansari, resident of Millatnagar, Kapali. Earlier, cops had arrested one Qayamuddin Ansari of Gausnagar for involvement in the burglary.

The accused persons had entered the locked house of one Anil Kumar Jha in Kharia Basti and stolen cash and valuables. Posing as scrap dealers, they took away the household goods in a cart used to carry scrap, cops said.

According to police, two men and a minor carried out the burglary. The minor had carried the goods on a cart while Qayamuddin and Salim carried a stolen battery on a bike. Qayamuddin was nabbed by local residents while Saleem and the minor had fled the scene, police said.
