Jamshedpur SSP orders probe into interior designer’s death at hotel

Jamshedpur, March 24: The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has directed an investigation into the demise of a young interior designer residing in Bhuiyandih Humepipe Basti Chhayanagar. The incident occurred at Nanak Residency Hotel in Mango, where the victim, identified as Komal Kumari (26), allegedly took her own life by hanging herself in room number 302.

Reportedly, the motive behind the suicide stemmed from her lover’s refusal to marry her. Komal, despondent over her lover’s decision to marry elsewhere, had left a poignant suicide note, recovered by the authorities during their preliminary investigations.

The sequence of events suggests that Komal arrived at the hotel around eight o’clock in the evening, booking a room despite initial reluctance due to her local identification card. However, she convinced the hotel staff that despite her local ID, she was a resident who had shifted from Jamshedpur.

Tragically, the following morning, when an auto was arranged for her departure, attempts to reach her went unanswered. Concerned hotel staff eventually discovered her lifeless body upon entering the room using a master key.

The suicide note left by Komal provides further insight into the circumstances surrounding her tragic decision. Additionally, authorities have seized Komal’s mobile phone as part of their investigation into the incident.

In response to this distressing event, the SSP has mandated a thorough investigation into Komal Kumari’s untimely demise, with a designated Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) assigned to lead the inquiry.
