Jamshedpur, March 24: Telco police have apprehended two additional brown sugar peddlers, with drug paraphernalia seized from them. The identities of the arrested individuals have not yet been disclosed, with ongoing raids pertaining to the case.
Following Saturday’s bust of a gang involved in selling brown sugar to students, which led to the recovery of 25 packets of the narcotic, authorities expanded their investigation. Sanjay Gorai, a resident of New Basti Ghodabandha, Govindpur police station area, and Rajesh Tantubai, from Zone No. 6 Gyandeep School, Birsanagar police station area, were among the initial arrests.
Further interrogation of Gorai and Tantubai unveiled the identities of their associates, prompting subsequent arrests. Acting on information that both individuals were vending brown sugar near Millennium Park, police successfully apprehended them, confiscating 25 bags of brown sugar, a motorcycle, and two touchscreen mobile phones.
DSP City Sudhir Kumar disclosed that the arrested peddlers had been specifically targeting students with their illicit trade.
