Jamshedpur slum residents of company areas to get 24X7 water and power supply: CM

Jamshedpur, Oct 6: Chief Minister Raghubar Das Sunday said the residents of slums situated in company areas would get water and electricity supply round the clock. He said the state government was committed to ensure all basic civic amenities for the people of the state irrespective of their status.

Das was speaking during his visit to various puja pandals in the city. He said the state government would very soon enter an agreement with Tata Steel to provide uninterrupted water and power supply to the residents of slums situated in company command areas.

The residents of all slums of Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency would also start getting basic civic amenities 24 hours. Efforts are on to bring Jamshedpur in the list of top 10 cities of the country, he said.

The CM said a lot had changed in Jamshedpur since 2014. He said the difference in quality of services available in company and non-company areas would soon be mitigated.

�I prayed to Goddess Durga to enable me to serve the state of Jharkhand and its people. I salute the people of Jamshedpur East who have given a labourer a chance to serve them since 1995. I congratulate the people of Jharkhand on Durga Puja and pray to the Goddess for the prosperity and peace of one and all,� he said.

Earlier, the CM visited puja pandals in Zone number 3, Birsanagar, Birsanagar Sunday Market, Subhash Kalyan Sangh, Telco, Hindustan Mitra Mandal, Sidhgora, Agrico, Mukhi Samaj, Bhalubasa, Harijan School, Bhalubasa, Joda temple, Bhalubasa, Kalindi Basti, Bhuiyandih, Premnagar, Jemco, Bhuvneshwari temple, Telco and Hind Club, Ranikuder.
