Jamshedpur Sikhs: Prakash Parv celebration marks 420th anniversary of installation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Jamshedpur:In a grand tradition upheld by the Sikh community, the 420th anniversary of  Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the living Guru of the Sikhs, was celebrated with great fervor at Sri Guru Nanak Sabha Baridih Gurdwara on Saturday.
The celebration, known as Prakash Parv, witnessed a gathering of devotees from near and far. The program included spiritual recitations, devotional music, and acts of community service, all aimed at honoring the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
A group led by Manpreet Singh, along with prominent members of Stree Satsang Sabha, including Bibi Dalvinder Kaur Deba, Manjeet Kaur, Nirmal Kaur, and Manpreet Kaur Manvinder Kaur, enthralled the congregation with soulful kirtan (spiritual songs).
Recognizing the significant role of women in the Sikh community, Stree Satsang Sabha felicitated Guru’s Wazir Baba Niranjan Singh and Sevadar Bibi Paramjeet Kaur. Bibi Ravindra Kaur, President of Central Sikh Stree Satsang Sabha, and Kamaljeet Kaur Sukhdeep Kaur were also honored for their contributions.
The day began with the recitation of the Akhand Path in the morning, followed by Baba Ji’s prayer for the well-being of all living beings. Hundreds of devotees paid their respects to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, reaffirming their commitment to follow its teachings. The langar, a communal meal, was served with utmost devotion, symbolizing the spirit of equality and selflessness.
To deepen the understanding of Sikh history and Guru Itihas, General Secretary Sukhwinder Singh and his wife Dalwinder Kaur provided informative sessions to the attendees.
The organizing committee, led by Pradhan Kulbinder Singh and comprising Chairman Sardar Kartar Singh, General Secretary Sukhwinder Singh, Deputy Pradhan Giani Kuldeep Singh, Joint General Secretary Jaswant Singh, Former Pradhan Amarjit Singh Bhamra, Guide Balwinder Singh, Advisor Avtar Singh, Sadhu Singh, Sukhdev Singh Gill, Baldev Singh, Gunveer Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Gurupreet Singh, Rajdeep Singh, Parmeet Singh, Sandeep Singh, Tejveer Singh, Simarjeet Singh, and others, worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the event and serve the Sangat (congregation).
The Prakash Parv celebration not only commemorated the birth of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji but also reinforced the values of unity, devotion, and community service that are at the heart of Sikhism. It was a day of spiritual enrichment and communal harmony that will be cherished by the Sikh community for years to come.
