Jamshedpur: Shotokan Karate Championship Concludes with Focus on Discipline

 

Jamshedpur: The All India Shotokan Shegokai Open Karate Championship concluded successfully at Tulsi Bhawan in Bistupur, Jamshedpur, highlighting the importance of discipline, self-confidence, and self-defense.

The closing ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, who also encouraged and motivated the participants. The Organizing Committee of Shotokan Shegokai Karate-Do India (SSKI) welcomed the chief guest with a bouquet and a traditional shawl.

Speakers at the event said that sports are not just about winning competitions but also help in building discipline, confidence, and overall personality development. Outstanding performers were honoured for their achievements, while all participants were wished success in their future careers.

Founder of Shotokan Shegokai Karate-Do India, Abhishek Raj Goswami, said the organization was established by his father in 1979 and has been working to train children in karate ever since. He added that while the main training centre is located in Adityapur, coaching is also provided in areas like Mango and Kadma.

Goswami stressed that self-defense is becoming increasingly important in today’s world. He said martial arts like karate not only improve physical strength but also help individuals become mentally strong and confident.
