Jamshedpur Shootout: Six arrested in clash between two gangs in Ulidih, weapons seized

Jamshedpur, April 5: Criminal Guddu Pandey was targeted in a gunfire incident by rival criminals on Thursday night on Sanjay Path, under Ulidih police station of Mango. Following the incident, an FIR was registered based on statements from both sides, leading to the arrest of six persons from either factions.

The arrested included Guddu Pandey, Roshan Kumar, and Rakesh from one group, and Dhananjay Singh and Deepu Gorai from the other. Police have seized three weapons and seven live cartridges, along with 12 shell casings recovered from the crime scene.

City SP Mukesh Lunayat providing details of the incident stated that the clash emanated when members of Sintu Singh’s gang, including David and Deepu Gorai, attacked Guddu Pandey’s residence, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. Guddu Pandey sustained a gunshot wound on his right thigh, while Dhananjay from the opposing group was injured in the hand.

It was revealed that both groups had previously been associated with the Amarnath gang and were involved in land business. A month earlier, a land dispute had escalated tensions between the two factions, culminating in the violent confrontation.

Authorities have proposed the imposition of the Criminal Law Amendment (CCA) Act on Sintu Singh. All involved in the clash have been remanded to judicial custody, with further efforts underway to apprehend other suspects involved in the incident.
