Jamshedpur, May 23: It is believed that prostitution is the oldest profession and it all started when a cavewoman asked for an extra piece of meat. Whatever be the belief or thought on this profession, the fact stands that flesh trade had not only held good through millenniums but has ‘evolved’ with passing times of human lust that has only grown and no social dictum has been able to curb.
Coming to present times in Jamshedpur, while the human race battled against the two waves of COVID carnage, people in high places found relaxation in the heady cocktail of wine and women in a bid to feed their insatiable lust for women. During the first wave of COVID-19 last year, people with jingling pockets were trapped in a sophisticated hotel in Bistupur and the owner Duggal and other prominent businessmen landed up behind bars. It was only after a long drawn legal battle that the doors of the hotel once again opened to business.
The second wave the COVID curse was simply a continuation of sinning ways with men drawn towards women for purposes of everything but chaste love. Of course, the scenario shifted from a plush hotel to a posh locality at Pradhan Colony in Zone #3 of Birsanagar. The flesh trade during the lockdown periods are gradually coming to light and together with it information of new ways of alluring trapdoors. Girls from Kolkata, Kharagpur and from various areas of Jamshedpur used to come to this house to engage in their professional activities.
The Pradhan Colony house in Birsanagar had been ‘in high profile business’ since the past four months. According to colony residents, parking of luxury cars was a regular feature in front of the house. People used to come and go and received their fill of wine and women. However, the police were unaware of the goings on here. But the local residents and neighbours collected detailed information and then informed the police.
The police did not waste time. ASP Kumar Gaurav led a team and landed a surprise raid on this vice den. The personnel in khaki were left pink faced at the sight they beheld as they rushed in. Three men and three girls were in various stages of comprising state. Liquor bottles, glasses and snacks were spread out. The police arrested six persons including three women from the house. They seized 13 bottles of IMFL, a car and a Bullet motorcycle from the spot.
ASP Kumar Gaurav said that prostitution was being carried out in the house. The locals told the police that the clandestine trade was going on in the Zone #3, Pradhan Colony house in Birsanagar since the past four months and various people visited the place. The woman behind the business had taken the house on rent and ran the flesh trade in a very planned manner. The ASP said that it would have been difficult to nab the people involved in the trade and only the surprise raid that was conducted enabled them to catch the nefarious trade runners.
Both, wine and women were served at this joint. The prostitution business was run in a high profile manner. Every need was arranged for in the house. The entire racket was conducted through the WhatsApp platform. The photographs of the call girls used to be posted on WhatsApp and once selected, the rates were fixed. The meeting point was fixed on WhatsApp. The hourly charges of the call girls, as reported by sources, were between Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,000.
