Jamshedpur, April 26: Senior advocate Chinmoy Kanti Sarkar passed away at the age of 72 on Tuesday. He breathed his last at his Madhav Bag Colony in Mango.
Sources said the veteran advocate would be cremated at Swarnarekha Burning Ghat tomorrow. Before cremation, Sarkar’s mortal remains would be taken to the premises of Civil Court, Jamshedpur, where members of District Bar Association, Jamshedpur, would pay their last respects to their departed fellow member.
Sarkar is survived by two children and a wife. His son Chayan Sarkar is an advocate in the Supreme Court while daughter Chayanika Sarkar is an advocate at the Kolkata High Court. His wife worked as a teacher at Jamshedpur Public School for 36 years. He was the founder president of the Ghatsila Bar Association, sources said.
Jamshedpur Bar members said there will be no work in the court in the second half of the day on Wednesday.
