Jamshedpur, April 26: OP Choudhary, Congress activist and a close friend of state Health Minister Banna Gupta, died of liver-related complications at a Hyderabad hospital on Monday. His death was condoled by members of East Singhbhum district Congress committee here on Tuesday.
Choudhary’s mortal remains arrived at Ranchi Airport this morning. Health Minister and other Congress leaders of the state paid tribute to him at the Airport.
Gupta had made arrangements for Choudhary’s treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, several months ago. But later, Choudhary was shifted to AIG Hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment. He was to undergo liver transplant, but he expired before the operation.
According to district Congress leaders, Choudhary was soft spoken, social and dedicated to the cause of the needy.
