Jamshedpur, Nov 26: A training programme was organized on Tuesday for all sector officers ahead of the upcoming state Assembly elections. The participants were trained on reporting of election procession at booths and inspection of polling booths for availability of basic civic amenities for voters.
Addressing the section officers, East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Returning Officer Ravi Shankar Shukla said they had to discharge their duties as sector magistrates on the day of polling. He said the sector officers had undergone training earlier. He said the officers should get their doubts cleared before polls so that they do not face any difficulty on the D-day.
Shukla said the sector officers should learn properly as to how to connect the electronic voting machines (EVMs) and VVPAT machines. The sector officers have to walk their way to the polling booth all the way from cluster, he said.
Shukla said priority should be given to differently-able, pregnant and aged voters on the polling.
