Jamshedpur, July 14: In view of the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Jamshedpur, the District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi has ordered the closure of all schools on Monday, July 15.
The order applies to all government, private, and minority schools operating up to Class 12 within the district. The administration has stated that the precautionary measure is being taken in the interest of public safety, particularly for students, given the forecast of continuous downpours and the risk of flooding or waterlogging.
The district administration said it is continuously monitoring the situation and further instructions will be issued if required. To ensure that the academic schedule is not severely disrupted, schools have been instructed to conduct online classes on the day of closure.
“In case of violation, the concerned institutions will face action under relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005,” the official order stated.
The IMD warning categorizes East Singhbhum in the red zone for July 15, suggesting potential hazards to public movement and student safety due to inclement weather. Residents are urged to remain alert and follow advisories issued by the authorities.
