Jamshedpur Schools RTE Admissions to Start Soon; 1,406 Seats Cleared After Scrutiny

Jamshedpur: Parents waiting for admissions under the Right to Education Act (RTE) in private schools can expect relief as the Education Department is set to begin the admission process later this week. The process will officially commence after receiving approval from the Deputy Commissioner.

This year, a total of 1,406 seats have been made available under the RTE quota, while as many as 3,580 applications were received. The admission process saw a slight delay due to detailed verification of documents submitted by applicants. During scrutiny, officials detected major irregularities, including 220 fake birth certificates and 100 forged income certificates.

After investigations conducted by the Mango Municipal Corporation, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), and Jugsalai Nagar Panchayat, all 320 suspicious applications were rejected. Authorities have now completed the verification of genuine applicants.

With the academic session already underway in private schools, the department is focusing on completing admissions quickly to prevent disruption in students’ education. Technical preparations on the RTE portal have also been finalized, and the list of eligible candidates will be uploaded soon.

Officials stated that the entire process will be conducted online to ensure transparency and fairness. Parents have been advised to submit only valid documents, with strict action warned against those involved in fraudulent practices.

Eligible students are expected to secure admission within this week and join classes without further delay.
