Jamshedpur
In view of the rising temperatures and intensifying heatwave conditions, private schools in Jamshedpur have decided to revise their school timings to ensure the safety and well-being of students starting from Monday ( April 20).
As per the new schedule, classes will now commence early in the morning at 6:45 AM and conclude by 11:30 AM. The decision has been taken collectively by private schools under the guidance of the Association of Jharkhand Unaided Private Educational Institutions (AJUPEI).
Providing details, Association Vice President Sharat Chandran stated that all member schools have unanimously agreed to implement the revised timing from Monday onwards. He emphasized that the decision has been taken keeping in mind the severe heat conditions prevailing in the region, which have been causing discomfort to students.
According to weather forecasts, the temperature in the city is likely to rise up to 44 degrees Celsius in the coming week, prompting urgent preventive measures. Schools have prioritized student safety and health, ensuring that children are not exposed to extreme heat during peak afternoon hours.
Parents will be formally informed about the revised timings, and all private schools are expected to strictly adhere to the new schedule.
The move has been widely welcomed as a timely intervention to protect students from heat-related health risks, with authorities urging continued vigilance during the ongoing summer conditions.
