Jamshedpur, Jan 6: District education department has found over two dozen income certificates submitted with admission forms to be forged.
Department sources said around 200 forms were submitted for admission in different private schools of the city under BPL quota. The forms were submitted at Thakker Bappa High School. On the fist day itself, over two dozen certificates attached with the admission forms were found to be fake.
Sources said a total of 1665 forms were distributed for admission against 2175 available seats. The forms would be accepted till 12th January, they said.
This time the nodal cell of education department’s RTE wing has not only given forms to guardians but also allotted them schools within a radius of three kilometer from their house. The online verification of income certificates and scrutiny of admission forms has started. Many parents have allegedly submitted income certificates doctored at cyber cafes. Such forms would be cancelled, said officials.
