Jamshedpur: Rs 9 lakh looted from electricity dept staff in Sidhgora

Jamshedpur, Dec 26: Two bike-borne criminals looted cash worth Rs 9 lakh from Jitendra Patro, APP operator of electricity department, near Sidhgora police station on Monday evening.

The incident took place around 4 pm when Jitendra was returning from Birsanagar and Sidhgora after collecting cash for three days. Jitendra could not deposit the cash in bank as it was closed on Saturday and Sunday. He was driving a scooty which was stopped midway by the accused persons. Taken by surprise, Jitendra fell into a pit. The accused persons took out the cash kept in a bag in the dickey of his scooty and decamped from the scene, sources said.

Jitendra told cops he was driving in speed when the culprits came closer to his vehicle and led him to fall into the pit. He informed his supervisor about the incident over phone and was taken to MGM Hospital for treatment.
