Jamshedpur, Dec 26: District traffic police department are keeping an eye on rash drivers and drunken drivers during the ongoing picnic season. This was observed on Monday by DSP Traffic Kamal Kishore who appealed to all citizens to strictly follow traffic norms and take safety measures to protect themselves and their families. Those driving bikes or riding pillion should wear helmets and car drivers should wear seat belts without fail, he said.
The DSP said additional police personnel would be deployed at various city places to man traffic and prevent road jams during the picnic season. He further said that the city traffic system would be further improved in the new year.
“We will keep vigil on traffic violators with the help of CCTV cameras installed all over the city and take prompt action against them. Overspeeding, rough driving and drink driving are strictly prohibited. People are being made aware of the need for road safety to prevent road mishaps and fatalities,” said the DSP.
