Jamshedpur, Dec 26: District Civil Surgeon of East Singhbhum Dr Sahir Pal reviewed the ongoing preparations of the health department to fight an impending spread of Covid-19 and directed his subordinates to be fully prepared for the situation.
District health department has started taking precautionary measures in view of a sharp spurt in fresh Covid cases across China and few other countries. Preparations are on all over the country to fight the deadly pandemic disease. Union Health Department is reviewing the current situation after conducting a high level meeting with the health ministers of all states.
Dr Pal inspected the oxygen plant in the district today and reviewed the ongoing preparations against the new variant of Covid-19. He said there are three oxygen plants in the Sadar Hospital at Khasmahal besides six additional plants across the district. All these plants are fully functional at present, he said.
Dr Pal said instructions to keep ICU wards and oxygen beds ready had been given to all government and private hospitals and nursing homes three days ago. He said the department was ready to deal with an emergency situation and appealed to people to include wearing mask in their daily habits and avoid going into crowded places.
