Jamshedpur: Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal today flagged off the LED awareness chariot designed to promote the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maniyaan Samman Yojana. This initiative aims to raise awareness among beneficiaries, particularly sisters and mothers aged between 21 to 50 years, who will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs. 1,000 under the scheme. The chariot will travel from village to village, informing eligible women about the benefits they can receive. The scheme targets those who do not benefit from any other pension scheme, providing them with financial support to enhance their nutrition, health, and hygiene.
During the flag-off event at the Collectorate, District Public Relations Officer Panchanan Oraon and Assistant Director of Social Security Neha Sanjana Khalkho were present. The launch of the LED chariot marks the beginning of a comprehensive publicity campaign at the Gram Panchayat level. Starting tomorrow, an 8-day camp will be held from August 3 to August 10 to receive applications from eligible beneficiaries across the district. Camps will also be set up at designated locations within municipal bodies. The District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner has instructed all relevant departments to work in coordination to ensure the smooth execution of the camps, ensuring that every eligible beneficiary has the opportunity to apply.
The eligibility criteria for the scheme include being a resident of Jharkhand, aged between 21 and 50 years, and having a single bank account linked to Aadhaar, though those without Aadhaar-linked accounts can still benefit until December 2024. Required documents include a Voter ID card and Aadhaar card. The scheme is applicable for families holding yellow (Antyodaya Anna Yojana), pink (Pre-soldier household card), white (K-Oil ration card), and green ration cards.
However, the scheme excludes families paying income tax, female applicants with EPF accounts, applicants or their spouses employed as regular/permanent/contractual employees or honorarium employees in Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, legal bodies, local/urban bodies, or government-aided educational institutions, or those receiving a pension/family pension post-retirement. Beneficiaries already receiving any other social security pension from the Women, Child Development and Social Security Department of Jharkhand and families with current or former MPs/MLAs are also excluded from the scheme.
Additional information includes the necessity for applicants to be present at the camp site for Aadhaar and photo verification. The scheme will be implemented by the Block Development Officer in rural areas and by the Zonal Officer in urban areas. Beneficiaries will receive monthly payment information on their registered mobile numbers. The coordination and successful execution of this initiative have been overseen by Rajnish Kumar, State Coordinating Officer for Jharkhand and Bihar, Reliance Industries Limited, in partnership with the District Administration.
