Jamshedpur, Jan 6: Vanmali Mahot (62), who was injured in a road accident near Pardih, Mango, passed away during treatment on Sunday morning. The accident occurred on the evening of January 3, when an auto carrying passengers lost control and overturned near Pardih Kali Mandir.
Mahot, a mason, was returning home after work when the incident occurred. Two other passengers, including Bharat Tantubai (40), sustained serious injuries and were undergoing treatment, while a woman escaped with minor injuries.
The police have seized the auto involved in the accident. Preliminary investigations suggest the driver was intoxicated at the time and fled the scene. The post-mortem of Mahot’s body was conducted on Monday after his family arrived. Authorities are continuing a search for the absconding driver.
