Jamshedpur residents reel under daily traffic jam

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur: It seems daily traffic jams have become a norm for the residents of Mango.Commuters passing through the Jai Prakash Setu, more popularly known as the Mango Bridge, have to brave scorching heat since morning till afternoon to cross the barely 100 metres or so stretch of the bridge. Ongoing repair of the Mango Bridge on one flank (from Sakchi towards Mango) and relaxation of no entry timing for heavy vehicles after Ramnavami have together made the situation worse. As a result, hundreds of vehicles are seen lined up from Dimna Chowk to the other end of the bridge via Mango Chowk everyday. The vehicles crawl up to the other end, making it difficult especially for two-wheeler drivers, students and patients to bear the heat and apparently unending wait to reach their destination.

Today two ambulances were caught up in the jam. Traffic cops somehow helped their drivers get out of the jam.
