Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum district administration will be prosecuting the violators of guidelines issued by the state government regarding Ramnavami celebrations in the Jharkhand. Police department is going through the video footage obtained through various sources in order to identify individuals guilty of such violation. This was informed here on Tuesday by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), M Tamil Vanan.
“We are closely watching all photos and videos obtained through drone cameras, CCTVs and videography to identify those disregarding the guidelines. Those having violated the guidelines would be booked,” said the SSP.
As per a notification issued by the Jharkhand government, a maximum of 100 people could participate in a procession and more than 1000 people were not allowed to gather at a given place. Moreover, playing pre-recorded songs or DJ music was not allowed. These rules were flouted with impunity at various places in the city during the Ramnavami procession, said the SSP.
FIRs are likely to be lodged against the violators on the basis of written complaint by the duty magistrate concerned. Cases are also going to be lodged against Akhara committees who took out procession without having a licence.
