Ranchi/Jamshedpur, Aug 25: Coronavirus cases crossed 33,000 mark in Jharkhand with 872 new positive cases on Wednesday, August 26. While the tally has crossed 5700 mark in Jamshedpur with 132 fresh corona cases reported till the filing of this report late on Wednesday evening.
10 patients died of Coronavirus while 872 new cases were reported in Jharkhand on Wednesday. Positive cases have climbed to 33046 while 362 people have lost their life due to the virus in the state including 10 on Wednesday.
Jamshedpur continues to top the casualty list with 6 patients losing their life on Wednesday. Two from Bokaro, 1 each from Ranchi and Deoghar succumbed to the virus on Wednesday.
599 people have recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital�s across the state on Wednesday. 22349 people have recovered in Jharkhand till date while 10335 active cases are still present in Jharkhand.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 5700 mark.
132 new cases were reported on Wednesday, August 26 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 5728. 164 people recovered of the virus on Wednesday in Jamshedpur.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 132 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Wednesday. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
More than 180 people have died of coronavirus in Jamshedpur till the filing of this report on late Wednesday evening including 6 deaths reported on August 26.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.
The order said that �All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.�
