Jamshedpur: Renowned educationist Dr Subrata Biswas cremated

Jamshedpur, June 19: The last rites of noted educationist and founder president of Swami Vivekananda College of Education, Salbani, Dr. Subrata Biswas, were performed on Friday at the Bhuinyadih cremation ground with full religious rites.

Dr. Biswas, who had been ailing for some time, passed away on June 18, 2026. His demise has caused deep sorrow across the academic community, his institution, and society at large.

His daughter and Sai Trust trustee Shreya Biswas performed the final rites by lighting the funeral pyre. Family members, including his son-in-law Tanmay Singh Solanki (Director, Sai Trust), along with relatives and well-wishers, were present to pay their last respects.

Dr. Biswas is survived by his wife, daughter, and son-in-law. Members of Sai Trust and the academic fraternity pledged to carry forward his vision and strengthen the institutions he established.

Teachers, students, and staff of Swami Vivekananda College of Education expressed deep grief, describing his death as an irreparable loss to the field of education and remembering his visionary leadership and dedication.
