Jamshedpur records 897 new COVID cases, 27 deaths in single day

Jamshedpur: Covid positive cases refused to slow down with a total of 897 fresh cases reported on Wednesday. City reported 27 deaths while 863 people recovered from the virus. District’s positive cases tally has mounted to 38824.

According to the data provided by the East Singhbhum district health department on 27 fatalities were due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, The death toll has climbed to 745. The total active cases are 6651.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 292950 tests per million in the district.The administration has reiterated orders for everyone to wear a mask (either three-layered or made of cloth) if they are outside their homes. And those violating this rule are being booked by police.

The DC Suraj Kumar expressed gratitude to the people for cooperating with the administration in observing lockdown and the other guidelines, he said, it was because of the support of the people that Jamshedpur till date has been able to successfully fight the coronavirus pandemic. The district administration has asked all commercial establishments as well as the general public to ensure strict adherence to notified norms of lockdown and avoid all forms of gatherings and crowds.

Speaking in reference to it the DC expressed concerns about violations of social distancing guidelines and closure orders. He appealed to the general public to observe the lockdown in letter and spirit warning of strict punishments for violations under the law.
