Jamshedpur, June 18: Rapid Rating Chess selection tournament for the 44th Chess Olympiad under 15 category was inaugurated in Sheyn International School premises, co-host for this tournament.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed a mammoth gathering of approximately 250 participants from around 65 schools. The tournament will be a great exposure for the budding Chess players.
The highlight of the inaugural ceremony was the moves on the board a friendly short game between the Chief Guest Rajani Shekhar, Principal DBMS English School, Kadma and Guest of Honour Sunil Kumar Jha, Principal Vidya Jyoti School.
Subsequently the tournament was declared open by the chief guest.
Rajani Shekhar expressed her delight to witness such a huge participation and wished everybody success in their endeavours to become a Grand Master.
Pushpa Bhalla, Principal, Sheyn International School in welcome address thanked the dignitaries for gracing the occasion, and wished luck to all the participants.
Applauding the gathering for their passion for the game, she also thanked the organisers of this event for providing this lifetime opportunity to the young minds.
