Jamshedpur, June 22: Andhra Sporting Union secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Dalma Tiger in an exciting Premier Division match played at the JRD Sports Complex on Monday.
Deepak Murmu gave Andhra Sporting Union an early lead in the 12th minute. Dalma Tiger responded strongly, with Bablu Murmu scoring the equaliser in the 23rd minute. The teams went into the break level at 1-1 after a closely contested first half.
Andhra SU regained the advantage soon after the restart when Samir Murmu found the net in the 47th minute. Mohan Mardi extended the lead in the 57th minute, putting Andhra SU in a commanding position. Dalma Tiger refused to give up and reduced the margin through Buddheshwar Manjhi later in the match. However, Andhra SU defended well in the closing stages to seal an important win.
New Boys Club continues winning run in Super Division
At Gopal Maidan, New Boys Club defeated Singhbhum Soccer Fans Club 2-0 in a Super Division encounter.
The match remained goalless for more than an hour before Suraj Hansdah broke the deadlock in the 65th minute. Singhbhum Soccer Fans Club tried to find an equaliser but failed to break through the opposition defence. Poresh Kisku sealed the victory for New Boys Club with a goal in the 88th minute, ensuring all three points for his team.
Katin FC and United FC register victories in A Division
In the A Division Group A match at Tinplate Sports Complex, Katin Football Club defeated Adivasi Development and Welfare Association (ADWA) 2-1. Suraj Soren and Subuj Kora scored within the opening 16 minutes to give Katin FC a strong start. ADWA pulled one goal back through Bhuglu Hembrom in the 69th minute, but Katin FC held on for the win.
In the Group B fixture at Armoury Ground, United Football Club came from behind to defeat Jharkhand Dynamos Football Academy 3-1. Pradip Hembrom gave JDFA an early lead in the second minute. However, Sankar Munda scored twice in the 24th and 44th minutes to put United FC ahead. Gulsan Murmu added a third goal in the 56th minute to complete an impressive comeback victory.
