Jamshedpur, March 5: With Holi round the corner and rising crime graph, district administration has tightened its belt to deal strictly with criminals and trouble-mongers. Deputy Commissioner and SSP of Jamshedpur have jointly issued orders to beef up security around the district to keep peace during the festive season.
Sources said a total of seven check-posts have been set up in and around the city to keep an eye on criminal elements and prevent their entry into the city. Executive magistrates and police forces have been deployed at these check-posts with effect from Saturday till further orders, sources said.
The magistrates and police officers would be required to discharge their duties from 6 am till 10 pm. All DSPs and station house officers (SHOs) have also been asked to be alert in their respective areas, sources said.
Department officials said the security has been tightened also in view of the ongoing Budget session of Jharkhand Assembly. Jharkhand Chief Secretary has directed district officials to depute magistrates for conducting random checking of vehicles entering and exiting the city, officials said.
The check-posts have been set up near Haludbani picket, Galudih police station, Citi Inn Hotel at Pardih, Sonari Domuhani, Adityapur Kharkai Bridge, Adityapur Road, Kadma Toll Bridge and Parsudih police station.
