Jamshedpur police nab fraudster

Jamshedpur, Dec 16: Sakchi police on Tuesday night arrested one Vishwajit Rai along with another person from Hillview Hotel along Kalimati Road for duping persons in the name of giving them employment.

According to police sources, Vishwajit was posing as a public prosecutor in Jharkhand High Court and has fleeced money from several persons in the city on the guise of providing employment. A case had been lodged against Vishwajit by a resident of Kundli Road, Kadma, Vijay Kumar Mahto and based on his information police traced Vishwajit from the hotel.

Vijay has in the complaint said that Vishwajit had taken Rs 2.20 lakh from him for giving a job to his son and has also taken Rs 2.50 lakh from N Vishal for providing jobs in NML. He has also cheated several residents of Jamshedpur including Kulwant Singh of Sidhgora.

Sakchi police have handed over the fraudster to Kadma thana. Significantly, in the recent past there has been spurt in cases of duping persons on the pretext of giving jobs. On Monday last, a couple had claimed themselves as advisors in the Union finance ministry and pressured 13 persons to provide jobs in Tata Steel and finally they were nabbed.
