Jamshedpur police nab criminal and drug peddler, arms recovered

 

Jamshedpur, March 17: Jamshedpur’s Kadma police has arrested notorious criminal Bhanu Majhi and arms peddler Rakesh Mandal alias Pakodi.

Police have recovered two pistols, two country-made pistols and eight bullets from them.

On Monday, Jamshedpur SSP Kishore Kaushal disclosed the matter in a press conference.

Kishore Kaushal said that the police had received secret information that Bhanu Majhi is sitting behind the Uliyan Gurudwara with weapons to carry out some incident.

After this, a team was formed and the accused was arrested. During the search, two weapons and three bullets were recovered from Bhanu. During interrogation, Bhanu told that he had bought the weapon from Rakesh. After this, the police also arrested Rakesh.

When the police searched Rakesh’s house, they recovered two more weapons from behind the house. Rakesh had hidden the weapons under a tree at the back.

During interrogation, it was revealed that Bhanu had given an advance of Rs 30,000 for the weapon. The remaining amount was to be paid later.

He told that Bhanu Majhi has gone to jail many times in the case of murder and extortion. More than two dozen cases are registered against him.

Last time in October 2023, the police arrested him with a weapon and sent him to jail. Action was also taken against him under CCA in jail.

However, he came out on bail on 28 January. The police was taking action to expel him. The notorious criminal was roaming around to increase his dominance in the area. During this time, both were arrested with weapons and are being sent to judicial custody.
