Jamshedpur Police Crack Kadma Firing Case; Two Brothers Arrested with Firearm

Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Police have cracked the Ramjanam Nagar firing case. Two brothers have been arrested for the crime, and the country-made pistol used in the attack has also been recovered.

The suspects, identified as Anil Sona and Krishna Sona, have been sent to judicial custody. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, City Superintendent of Police (SP) Lalit Meena confirmed that the shooting occurred on the night of June 2 in the Ramjanam Nagar locality of Kadma. The victim, Sanjay Tandi, sustained a gunshot wound to his jaw during the assault.

Local residents initially rushed Tandi to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College and Hospital. However, owing to the severity of his injuries, doctors subsequently referred him to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi for advanced treatment.

Police Recover Weapon and Forensic Evidence

City SP Meena revealed that investigators utilized a combination of technical surveillance, eyewitness testimonies, and intelligence leads to zero in on the Sona brothers. Following their arrest, the duo led police to the hidden weapon.

The police team successfully recovered:

• One country-made pistol
• One live cartridge
• An empty shell collected from the crime scene
• The mobile phones of both accused individuals

“We have sent the seized firearm and ammunition for forensic examination to strengthen our legal case,” City SP Lalit Meena stated. “Preliminary investigations indicate that the firing stemmed from a personal dispute rather than any active criminal gang rivalry.”

The city police are currently analysing scientific evidence to establish the exact sequence of events and trace how the brothers procured the illegal weapon. Authorities warned that anyone found aiding the suspects or supplying the illegal firearm will face immediate legal action.
