Jamshedpur Police arrest notorious criminal with sophisticated weapon in Bistupur

Jamshedpur: In a significant breakthrough, the Jamshedpur police successfully arrested the notorious criminal Mohammed Adil, also known as Nippo, on Thursday night in the bustling Bistupur Thana area. The apprehension was made following a meticulous special operation that culminated near the popular ‘Khao Galli’ on M-Road.

Adil, a resident of the Jugsalai locality in the steel city, was nabbed amidst the crowded food street during what appears to be a premeditated criminal activity.

According to DSP (CCR) Animesh Gupta, who addressed the media on Friday, the police received a tip-off about a suspected criminal loitering in the busy Khao Galli, a stretch known for its fast food sellers in Bistupur. Acting swiftly, a specialized team was formed, and the entire area was cordoned off to conduct a thorough search operation. The arrest was successfully executed, preventing a potential crime.

“On being frisked, the police found a nine MM-loaded pistol in the possession of the criminal, later identified as Mohammed Adil. Adil had been a long-standing target of the Jamshedpur police, with multiple pending criminal cases against him in various police stations across the city,” shared DSP Animesh Gupta.

Gupta further revealed that during the interrogation process, Adil admitted to being present at Khao Galli with the intention of committing a serious crime. The nature of the intended offense remains under investigation.

The successful arrest of Mohammed Adil marks a triumph for law enforcement in the region, underscoring their commitment to maintaining public safety and addressing criminal threats.
