Jamshedpur, Sept 27: As the city gears up for the grand celebration of Durga Puja, Jamshedpur police has issued a comprehensive advisory urging citizens to cooperate fully in maintaining law and order during the festive period. The appeal aims to ensure that the celebrations remain joyous, organized, and incident-free.

In its public message, the police have requested residents to avoid unnecessary vehicle movement during pandal hopping to reduce congestion on busy roads.

Devotees have been advised to make maximum use of public transport and follow all traffic regulations strictly to facilitate smooth vehicular flow.

Special emphasis has been laid on child safety. Parents have been urged to keep their children close and ensure that each child carries an identification slip with their name, address, and contact number.

This precaution will help authorities in tracing children swiftly in case they get separated from their families in crowded areas.

Citizens have also been encouraged to remain vigilant. In case they notice any suspicious objects, abandoned vehicles, or unidentified individuals, they are advised to immediately alert the police by dialing the emergency helpline 112 or contacting the District Control Room at 0657-2431030 / 9508280796.

Swift reporting, the police emphasized, plays a crucial role in preventing untoward incidents.

To strengthen security, Jamshedpur police has intensified patrolling and deployed additional personnel at major pandals and public spaces.

CCTV surveillance has been expanded across strategic locations to keep a close watch on crowd movement and detect any suspicious activity in real time.

Police personnel will also be conducting frisking and security checks at entry points, and the public has been requested to cooperate patiently with these procedures.

The police have further appealed to citizens to stay away from antisocial, illegal, and criminal activities.

They reminded that public places are under continuous CCTV monitoring, and strict action will be taken against anyone found violating the law.

The advisory concluded with a reassurance of the police’s commitment to public safety and a reminder that timely cooperation from citizens is key to ensuring a safe and harmonious festive atmosphere.

For any emergency assistance, people can dial 112 or contact the control room numbers provided.
