Jamshedpur, June 8: A city-based pilot Sanjeev Kumar Jha died in an aircraft mishap at Dhenkanal, Odisha on Monday morning. Sanjeev Kumar Jha flew to train the woman trainee on a training aircraft at Kankarhar in Dhenkanal district of Odisha on Monday morning. However in mid-way the plane crashed into the ground.

The deceased female trainee was named Fatima and hailed �from Tamil Nadu. Kumar, who was associated with Gati Flying Institute, was training Fatima. The pilot lost control on the trainee aircraft Acesna 152 VT ENF near Dhenkanal.


The plane crash took place near Dhekanal and fell on the airstrip of the government aviation training centre Gati. The two injured were rushed by an ambulance to hospital in Kamakhyanagar, where they were declared brought dead. The father-in-law of Sanjeev Kumar Jha is a resident of Sitaramdera in Jamshedpur.

Sanjeev worked as a trainer at Sonari’s Alchemist Aviation, but he was reinstated as a trainer at the Government Pilot Training School in Odisha a few years ago.

A few days ago a pilot training camp was started at Virashal Airstrip in Dhenkanal, Odisha with 90 students. Each day 36 students were being trained through six aircrafts.
